It immobilises the leg and hip, eliminating pain as the patient is turned and therefore engendering patient confidence. The leverage action protects the carers back. The Immoturn is handed, i.e. for turning a patient on to the left side, a left hand Immoturn is required and for turning a patient on to the right side, a right hand Immoturn is required.
