The outer pouch is made from a lightweight waterproof material and the inner pouch is made from a non-porous material. The inner pouch is filled with absorbent polymer crystals that turn the fluid into a gel, trapping it inside the fabric pouch. The polymer consists of anti-microbial agents, which inhibits bacterial growth and changes the composition of the waste so that it becomes safe for disposal as normal rubbish. The expanded crystals maintain their form and suppress strong odours, ensuring that if the urinal is left in a confined space for a long period of time it still remains spill-proof and odour free until it can be disposed of.
